When it comes to my posts on here, I go purely from inspiration and don't ever force them which reflects my attitude toward fashion and just about everything in my life. It's the best way to avoid doubt in life if you just constantly go with whats in your heart and try not to worry about the consequences til afterwards. Yet the following entry is the first and hopefully only one where I had a lot of doubt about writing but since it's a question that seems to be on a lot of my readers minds lately, I thought I'd tackle it the best I can.
What to wear to Warped Tour/any outdoor summer concert.
Now already if you attend Warped Tour every year, you are rolling your eyes and all fired up to leave me some hateful comment about how Warped Tour isn't about fashion or style or what you're wearing but just about the music. Which I'll agree with you. But when you are me or someone like me, everywhere, everything, every occasion calls for the perfect outfit. Call it a blessing or a curse but I refuse to leave the house unless the outfit I'm wearing fits my mood and occasion just right.
When it comes to Warped Tour/any outdoor summer concert you may attend, there are a few guidelines that you must take into consideration before planning an outfit,
- It is going to be hot. Depending on where you live it will vary exactly how hot but odds are you are going to be outside sweating all day in the blazing hot sun surrounded by equally sweaty hot individuals. This means fabrics should be lightweight, avoid dark colors and use it as an excuse to show as much skin as possible. After all, the less clothes you wear, the better the tan lines.
- Do not not not not NOT wear flip flops or open toed shoes under any circumstances. I don't understand why this rule is so difficult to understand. First of all, the size of the blisters you will be sporting by the end of the night will last for weeks, not to mention other catastrophes like cracked toenails, bruised toes and all of this is if you're lucky enough to leave by the end of the day with two shoes, I can't tell you have many times I see girls with one flip flop in hand walking bare foot by the end of the night. You do not want to be that girl. If you want to keep it comfy and basic, you can't go wrong with Vans or any sort of sneakers. But if you're like me and hate sneakers with a passion, boots, particular Doc Martens, are an acceptable alternative.
- This seems fairly obvious but have a good idea of what you're planning on doing before you go to Warped Tour/any outdoor concert. If you plan on crowd surfing, don't wear any sort of dress, skirt or something you'd want to be ripped or can be easily torn off you. A great tip for crowd surfers is wearing body suits, less of a chance the top will fly off and you'll be remembered for finishing the surf in nothing but a bra. Believe me, it happens.
And now for some options,

Ruffled Floral Bandeau $12.90

Loose Crop Tank $22

Turquoise Cross Necklace $14
Super Marley Slouch Tee $26.88
Bandana Handkerchief $19.35
My advice is be prepared to be slightly overdressed compared to everybody else attending since most people do go for the basic shorts and tank top and sneaker combo when it comes to seeing their favorite band and spending all day outdoors. But there's nothing wrong with wanting to look stylish all the time even for an occasion like this one where fashion usually takes a backseat. Just make sure to keep the jewelry simple and not to go over top on the hair and makeup. There's a fine line between looking like a well dressed fan and groupie who's trying too hard.

Great post! I don't think girls will EVER understand the ethics of dressing properly to an outdoor festival. The worst are tights in the summer, they're going to rip!
